The following describes the way we handle information gained about you from your visit to Novozymes’ Website, (“the Website”) and the check-out flow located on in accordance with applicable rules on data privacy, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

What information do we collect and why?

The Website collects the following personal data about you: 

1) name, billing address, shipping address, phone number, payment information (including credit card numbers), IP address and e-mail address when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Website or log into My Account.

2) name, e-mail address and other identification details (contact information) when voluntarily provided by you, e.g. in connection with sign-up for our newsletter.

3) additional information provided by you as part of your profile in My Account.

4) user behavior tracking through the use of cookies 

We process your personal data in order to facilitate your purchase on the Website (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). In addition, we use this information to screen orders for potential risk of fraud.

We process your IP address to customize the content of the Website on the basis of your geographical location (language, product availability, currency etc.).

In addition, your contact information will be used for the direct purpose requested by you such as e-mail notification, trouble-shooting or visitor feedback. 

We process your personal data to facilitate your access to information and documents in My Account, including information about your purchase history with Novozymes.

Your contact information may also be used to provide you with information or marketing material regarding our products, in accordance with the preferences you have shared with us.

The legal basis for such processing of data is our legitimate interest in providing you with information relevant for your transactions with Novozymes and to facilitate such transactions, cf. GDPR article 6, 1 (b) and (f), and our legitimate interest in communicating with you for the purpose of i.e., maintaining and improving our online content, cf. GDPR article 6, 1 (f).

The legal basis for such processing of your personal data under the GDPR is your consent, cf. GDPR article 6, 1 (a). As an exception to the above, the legal basis for processing your personal data in connection with necessary cookies is our legitimate interest in maintaining and operating our website, cf. GDPR article 6, 1 (f).

Your personal information will be retained for as long as it is relevant to fulfil the purpose for which it has been registered. In considering how long we keep your personal information, we will consider its relevance to our business and to legal and regulatory obligations, which apply to us.

If you choose to deactivate your My Account, you will lose access to your account and will no longer be able to login. We will, however, store the data about you and your purchase for a given period in accordance with applicable legislation.

We have implemented technical and organizational measures to keep it safe.  

Transfers of data

We may share your personal information with affiliates in the Novozymes group to the extent relevant to fulfil your specific request. Please see the list of Novozymes’ affiliates here.

If required to respond to a request or a question submitted by you, then Novozymes may share your request and your contact details with our relevant distribution partner.

Further, if you have requested to receive marketing communication regarding Novozymes' business and products from Novozymes or from our distribution partners, then Novozymes may share your contact details and area of interest with our relevant distribution partners, so that they may contact you for this purpose.

We also share your personal with third parties to help us use your personal data as described above.

As stated above under the section "What information do we collect and why?”, Novozymes uses cookies, incl. cookies for user behavior tracking, to improve our website and the marketing of our products.
