Enzymes require specific stabilization depending on format

Built-in protease stabilization

Enzymes are proteins that can act as highly efficient cleaning agents, breaking down soils and providing superior cleaning over surfactants alone. Protease enzymes actively degrade proteins, posing a challenge when multiple enzymes are mixed in a liquid detergent together.

Evity^® stabilizers are designed to perfectly sit in the active site of a protease, preventing interaction with other enzymes in the detergent. This allows for the use of several enzymes, and therefore maximum cleaning performance, in one convenient detergent solution.

Enzymes in liquid detergents

Enzymes other than proteases (such as amylases, lipases, or mannanases) are produced as highly stable versions that prevent detergent ingredients from interfering with their performance.

These liquid products do not require built-in stabilization, but are selected for their robustness in a liquid detergent formulation.
